祁連(Qilian)

豐富多元的國際課程為實現學生的個性化發展提供了選擇的可能和堅實的基礎,也是人朝分國際課程中心的一大亮點,同時,如何确保跑班體制下有序的良性運轉狀态也是各個學院日常管理工作的重點。祁連學院的老師和學生們通過晨會開展形式多樣的活動,不僅有助于開拓視野、多元思維方式,更有益于交流情感、增強班級成員的集體歸屬感,可謂意義非凡。以下是來自祁連學院開展的系列主題晨會活動。

The variety of international curriculums offers students the opportunities and abilities of self-achievement. It’s also one of the most eye-catching characteristics of the international education system at RDFZ ALC. It is always vital to make sure that the daily order is maintained under the vertical system. In Qilian house, homeroom teachers and students organize several meaningful activities at morning registrations to not only broaden students’ horizon, but also enhance communication with each other and create closer friendship. Here is the introduction of the activities organized by Qilian House.


主題一:早間新聞

Activity One: Morning News.


祁連學院的同學們都心系天下大事與時事新聞,他們在班主任的積極引導和班幹部的有效組織下,從新高一入學至今,堅持利用晨讀時間分享時事新聞。

Students in Qilian House pay much attention to global news and current affairs. With positive guide of homeroom teachers and effective organization of student leaders, they have successfully held many Morning News sessions in this school year.


活動展開方式是一位同學針對近期發生的新聞事件,制作成PPT,在晨讀時與大家分享,随後全班同學展開讨論,各抒己見。自新高一入學以來,早間新聞分享已經包含了:樸槿惠閨蜜幹政事件、美國總統大選、伊萬卡特朗普、古巴領導人Fidel Castro、澳洲高中生自制炸彈事件、恐怖怪談、夏校經曆、動物園破産事件、美國UA航空醜聞等。

Usually, a student makes a presentation on the news or influential affairs happened recently, and then expresses his or her own opinion about it with the class. Later, all of class members will discuss the news together. Till now, students have shared a large number of news events including The president election in America, the scandal of Park Geun-hye,Ivanka Trump and so on.


這樣的活動不僅鍛煉了同學們勇于展示自己的膽量,也提升了同學們的演講水平與表達能力,更培養了同學們總結歸納信息與綜合分析問題的能力,這些能力對于同學們将來的學習生活乃至個體綜合素質的提高都大有助益。

This activity not only improves students’ courage of being on the stage, but also positively affects their ability of speech and giving out presentations. This valuable abilities will definitely benefit them a lot for their future life and studying.


主題二——學術分享

Activity Two: Academic Sharing


學術分享,包括分享展示和交流讨論兩個環節。針對同學們近期學習、生活方面的困惑,由一位同學分享如何快速适應國際高中生活、分享交流各科學習經驗、分享申請大學經驗,随後其他同學提出問題,共同交流。除此之外,還組織同學們以傳閱形式展示優秀筆記,相互借鑒相互學習。

This activity includes 2 parts: presentation and communication. It mainly solves the problems about students’ recent learning and daily life. Every time one student will stand in the front of the classroom and share his or her own experiences and ideas about college application, option study and useful learning approaches. The rest of the class always take notes diligently during the presentation.


通過分享,高一的同學對于申請和大學生活有了較為具體和深入的認識:應該怎樣選校?大學專業和高中選課之間有着怎樣的聯系?綜合大學和文理學院之間的差異究竟有多大?專業排名和綜合排名,究竟哪一個更加具有說服力?這些原本認識模糊的問題都在分享中得以解答。

From sharing, senior 1 students can know more about college application: How do they choose the best fit? What is the relationship between high school courses and college majors? What are the differences between university and liberal arts college? Which is more important, college ranking or major ranking? Students reported that many oftheir concerns have been well addressed.


主題三——英語學習

Activity Three:English Study


為提升同學們的英文水平,祁連學院的班主任老師利用班級晨會時間播放BBC或者TED等提升英文聽力的媒體資料。BBC和TED中标準的英文發音和演講者傑出的演講能力,使得同學們的英語聽力水平有了顯著的提升,而且演講内容涉獵廣泛,開拓視野。

In order to improve students’ English, QilianHouse homeroom teachers expose students to diverse multimedia materials like TED talk or BBC news broadcast. Lecturers in TED talk all have great English pronunciation and presentation skills. By listening to English talks, students’oral English has been improved quite a lot. These speeches also let the students know more new knowledge and broaden their horizon at the same time.


不僅如此,還組織同學們介紹自己最近閱讀的英文小說、文章、演講稿、電影,并從其中選出自己最為欣賞或留下印象最深的片段,通過朗讀的形式與全班分享。其中馬丁路德金《我有一個夢想》等經典演講的分享,給同學們留下深刻印象。

What’s more, homeroom teachers also let the students choose the most attractive and meaningful excerpts from novels,speeches, articles or movies students recently enjoyed to share with the whole class.


主題四——傳統文化

Activity Four: Chinese Traditional Culture


作為一名預備役的留學生,同學們在将來都要開啟異國求學之旅,中國沉澱千年的傳統文化應該永遠根植于我們的心底,不能因為身處異鄉而輕易丢棄。祁連學院的師生們利用晨會時間進行了對中國傳統文化的介紹,無論是薛賀萌同學的上巳節介紹,亦或是張亞熙同學所帶來的寒食節介紹,随着對中國傳統文化的深入了解,也激發了同學們對中國傳統文化的熱愛之情。

As potential international students in foreign countries, Chinese history and traditions should always engrave on our mind. Qilian House learn about Chinese traditional festivals, including Shangsi Festival introduced by Jodie and Hanshi Festival introduced by Thomas, in morning registration. With the deeper understanding of those festivals with along history, students also start to pay more attention and be more interested in Chinese traditional culture.


除此之外,祁連學院對中國傳統文化的學習與發揚,也體現在各個方面:本學期祁連各班的闆報制作,傳統文化色彩濃厚,别具一格;清明節期間,學院通知闆也開辟出簡介清明節習俗的小專欄;高中足球聯賽期間,祁連學院展闆還制作了《中國傳統體育項目》的專題海報。

The study of Chinese traditional culture can be shown in other diverse activities as well. The board design by Qilian students contains many elements of Chinese culture; during the football tournament, there was also a special section in the House Notice Board,introducing the Chinese ancient football game.


“一年之計在于春,一日之計在于晨”,祁連學院各班晨讀活動的初衷都是盡最大努力使同學們能夠收獲快樂與成長。在未來,祁連師生還會堅持這些有意義的活動,并在相互借鑒學習中為同學們帶來更多有趣的分享,在祁連學院的青春回憶錄裡增添幾抹色彩!

“A year’s plan starts with spring. A day’s plan starts in the morning.” The aim of those activities organized by QilianHouse is to help students to gain happiness and growth. In the future, QilianHouse teachers and students are going to have more meaningful activities. We are certain that these meaningful and engaging activities will add more fun and significance to our study and life in Qilian House.
